The Aran Islands
The Aran Islands are a fantastic day out and can be accessed by boat or by air. They offer a landscape that is criss crossed with dry stone wall, and have a number of beautiful coastal features such as sandy beaches and impressive cliffs.
From west to east they are: Inishmore which is the largest; Inishman and Inisheer the smallest. Irish is the main spoken language on all three islands, and is the language used naming the islands and their villages and townlands.
